Penguins Swim Team
(Ages 5-17)
The Penguin Swim Team, member of the Kentucky-Indiana YMCA Swim Association (KIYSA), is a youth competitive swim team.
Participants ages 5-18 will have the opportunity to build competitive swimming skills, learn the rules of competitive swimming, and increase swimming endurance. Participants will practice 3 times a week. Competitions include an opening meet, five dual/tri meets, and a championship meet for the full season, which includes both sessions. Participants will also receive a team t-shirt and swim cap. Team suits will be purchased separately.
Tryouts will be held on Monday, August 23 at 7:00 p.m. at the Floyd County YMCA. Swimmers will use this time to demonstrate their swimming capability. Swimmers will be asked to complete a minimum of a continuous 25 yard swim. Swimmers will get feedback at the end of tryouts. |
